Nashville's Americana Music Festival began Tuesday, reminding everyone the Music City isn't just about country.
The 17th annual event is a way to bring music industry professionals together for workshops, discussions and seminars, but it's also about the fans.
Hundreds of live performances over the week will showcase singers, musicians, and writers. The festival runs from the 20th-25th.
The festival was set to officially kick off Tuesday at 5 p.m. at The Basement with a book signing by Josh Rosenthal and music by Jack Ingram.
There are also performances starting at seven at Ascend Amphitheater by The Lumineers with Borns and Rayland Baxters.
