The Mt. Juliet Animal Shelter has put up an angel tree for their furry friends to make sure people don't forget about the animals that have not yet been adopted.
Shelter officials taped small bags full of wish lists for the animals on the doors of the shelter. "We thought what a great idea to make one for pets in a shelter as well," said Shelter Director Dawn Ambrose.
People can stop by the shelter to pick up a wish list and then call to schedule a time to drop off the items at the shelter or leave them at the donation box set outside.
"I wish that I could give them all a home, but I couldn't so the next best thing I could do would be to donate and make sure they have the supplies they need," said Jennifer Miller, who already picked up a list for a cat and will be delivering the items before Christmas.
"The animals really are in need, and people don't think of them as much as they do some other people around this time of year" said Miller.
If you don't want to take part in the Angel Tree, but still want to donate, you can also make a donation to the Mount Juliet Animal Shelter or buy a 2016 calendar, which are $15 dollars each.
