An arrest was made in a murder cold case from 2013 in Lincoln County.
Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department arrested Joe Speck in the murder of 54-year-old Michael Mitchell of Flintville, Tenn.
Mitchell was killed in March of 2013. His body was found dismembered and left in his home for weeks.
At the time of the discovery, Sheriff Murray Blackwelder said a utility worker called authorities after they smelled what turned out to be Mitchell's decomposing body coming from the home.
Speck was charged with one count of criminal homicide and booked into the Lincoln County Jail.
