An investigation was launched after a masked man entered a Franklin area bank and demanded cash.

The incident happened around 9:09 a.m. Wednesday, at the SunTrust Bank at 1109 Murfreesboro Road.

Officials with Franklin Police said the suspect entered the building and approached the teller.

He was armed with what appears to be a handgun and was wearing a black ski mask. He was also seen on surveillance video.

Police said the suspect was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was hurt during the robbery.

Authorities said they believe he fled in a silver colored sub-compact car which was caught on camera. They have also been interviewing witnesses who saw the man before he pulled the mask over his face.
