Baby cut by flying glass after someone fires shots into vehicle on I-65

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — A baby was injured by flying glass after someone fired shots into a vehicle on Interstate 65.

The incident happened around 2:45 a.m. Thursday in southbound lanes near Cool Springs Boulevard..

Officials with Franklin police confirmed someone in a light-colored Dodge Charger, with blue racing stripes, shot into the rear passenger window of the victim’s vehicle.

The round passed through the vehicle and struck the driver’s side passenger window.

The vehicle was carrying three adults and three minors, who were traveling from Illinois to Alabama.

The 11-month-old baby in the back seat was cut by flying glass but the injuries were not serious, according to police.

There were no other injuries.

The suspect has not been identified. The investigation remains ongoing.

Franklin Police are urging anyone with information about this incident to come forward. A cash reward is being offered for anonymous information provided to Williamson County Crime Stoppers: (615) 794-4000.
