A Bedford County correctional officer has been fired after an alleged assault involving an inmate.
Sheriff’s officials said they became aware of an incident involving an alleged assault between a correctional officer supervisor and an inmate back on December 5.
Additional details of the incident were not immediately released.
After an investigation, Ronald Crowe was charged with assault and booked into jail on December 6. He was later released on bond.
His employment with the sheriff’s office was subsequently terminated.
