NORMANDY, Tenn (WTVF) — A family was forced to evacuate their mobile home after coming back to heavy floods in Normandy on Saturday.
Rachel and C.J. Wood says it all happened in about 20 minutes. The Wood’s live near the Duck River and say they’ve been watching it for some days.

As of 5:00 p.m. Saturday the couple said they believe there’s about six inches of water in the home now, and they’re expecting more.

“We went right into town to pick our son up from work and we came back and the driveway, the water was over the driveway; they had some EMS here and they were pulling people out and my brother in law who lives at the back of the thing and his dog,” said C.J. Wood.

They’re just glad they were able to grab the important things before they got damaged.

“The first thing I was concerned about was my animals, I have already pre-loaded everything else in the car and getting my other son’s ashes and making sure I had him because we lost our son in 2017,” said Rachel Wood.

The couple is staying with nearby family tonight.
