A beloved Pleasant View firefighter died suddenly last week leaving his department and his family in shock.

According to friends, C.J. Morris, 30, collapsed at work unexpectedly. It's still unclear what happened or how he died. C.J. had spent the last four years as a volunteer firefighter with Pleasant View where colleagues say he had an infectious smile and laugh.

"He was larger than life, he was a gentle giant and a family man through and through," Captain Joe Sparks said.

C.J. leaves behind two young daughters and a wife. He was laid to rest in Pleasant View.
