Nashville officials will soon make a major announcement related to the bid to bring a Major League Soccer to the city.
Nashville Soccer Holdings Chairman and CEO John Ingram is expected to make the announcement at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Nissan Stadium.
A group of interested parties first launched a bid to bring MLS to Nashville in 2016.
Nashville is the smallest of 12 cities to submit an MLS application.
Mayor Megan Barry has suggested building a soccer stadium at the fairgrounds, though how that plan would be financed is still unclear.
