NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Tennessee's new governor held his first cabinet meeting Tuesday night.
Governor Bill Lee says executive orders will come out later this week. A budget hearing is also planned for Friday.
During the meeting, he asked each department head to cut two percent from their budget.
"I believe we should be fiscally responsible in making sure that we don't grow government beyond what it should be, particularly in times of prosperity to prepare for those times when our economy is not so good. We will ask every agency to let us know what cuts would look like if we ask them to make them," said Lee.
Governor Lee took office on Saturday.
