The owner of a salon in Nolensville said she is thankful no one was injured this morning when more than a half dozen boulder came flying through the front of her business after a blasting mishap at a nearby construction site.
Linda Leath has owned A Salon 2 Dye 4 for the last nine years, when she arrived this morning nearly all of the windows of her Nolensville Road store front had been blown out by rocks. Sharp pieces of glass and rocks littered the ground of her business.
“It just looked like the building had been bombed,” she said.
The rocks flew hundreds of feet in the air after construction crews set off dynamite at a development site across the street which is being flattened to make way for a new retail space.
“They had been blasting and giving us warning but not this morning,” she added.
Leath said that had the damage occurred any later in the day clients or drivers could’ve been seriously injured by the blast.
“Thank goodness we weren’t here,” she said.
NewsChannel 5 spoke to the mayor of Nolensville who said he’s contacted state officials about the incident.
The developer of the site did not return calls on Tuesday.
