BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WTVF) — City leaders in Brentwood want to make sure e-scooter rental companies know they're not welcome.

Scooters have been the source of a lot of debate in Nashville. Cities like Brentwood started taking notice. The Board of Commissioners is looking to ban them before companies can even set up shop.

While no company offers e-scooters for rent in Brentwood yet, a handful have shown up on the streets. On Monday night, the city commission will have its final vote on an ordinance to ban short-term scooter rentals.

Some of the reasons for the ban include concerns over the health and safety of the public.

The Brentwood City Commission will meet Monday at 7:00 PM.
