LEXINGTON, Ky. – A broken water main in urban Kentucky looked more like a geyser one might see out west.
A large pipe burst in Lexington Tuesday, sending thousands of gallons into the air and onto the street.
A neighbor said the sound was so loud that she thought it was storming outside. She walked outside and saw water gushing from the pipe.
"It looks like a [geyser] or something. There is a tremendous amount of water coming out of the ground. It's hitting the power lines,” she said.
Thousands in the area were without running water for hours. Crews are still working to fix the line.
