A Stewart County school bus driver died from a medical emergency after dropping a bus load of kids off at school.
Fred Mann let the last group of kids off his school bus Monday morning.
Steward County school officials said Mann was driving an empty bus on Highway 79 east around 7:30 a.m. when he drove into a ditch.
Man had apparently had a medical emergency while driving. He was transported to Henry County Medical Center.
He was beginning his 38th year as a School Bus Driver for the Stewart County School System. School officials said he spent his last moments doing something he loved.
Just before the incident, Mann had safely transported students to Stewart County High School.
Officials said Fred’s life was one of service and dedication to the children of Stewart County, and that he would be deeply missed.
