NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — An accused home burglar is behind bars after Metro canine officer, Ringo and his partner Officer Spencer Harris tracked him down Friday.

Jario Hernandez, 21, is behind bars tonight after he fled the scene of a burglary and later returned only to run into a wooded area when police were called for the second time.

Officers responded to a burglary call at a home on Edmonton Pike at 6:30 a.m.

The resident reported he had been awakened by the sound of breaking glass. When he entered his kitchen he found a man and engaged in a fight with him. The burglar then fled.

Around noon, police received a call that the burglar had returned to the area.

Once at the scene, Officer Harris and Ringo began to track Hernandez. He was found hiding in a small shed in the 200 block of Blackman Drive.

Hernandez is being charged with aggravated burglary.
