HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. - Police said a group of car burglars have been targeting gym goers who leave valuables in their car.
Their latest victim was Marlene Tachoir, who said she put her wallet in the middle compartment of her car before going inside the YMCA.
"I was going for a quick walk, was going to be half an hour maybe, but that's all the time they needed," Tachoir said.
She said she believes the thieves cased her out and waited ten minutes after she went in to make sure she wasn't coming back out.
They broke the lock to the back door and took only her wallet.
"These people are professionals," she said. "They know what they're doing, and they know they probably will not get caught."
The thieves bought nearly $2000 worth of goods at Walmart and other nearby stores.
Tachoir said they also filled up their gas tank twice.
Hendersonville police believe these criminals have also been targeting churches and other gyms in the area. Anyone with additional information, including the identities of those in the surveillance photo, has been urged to contact police.
