Truck Crashes Into Antioch Home

Metro Nashville Police have responded to a truck that crashed into an Antioch home.

The vehicle hit the home at 5421 Eulala Drive near Ashlawn Drive. Dispatchers said it happened around 4:11 p.m. Tuesday when a driver crashed the vehicle into the front porch of the home.

The wooden porch was broken into pieces and the front door damaged. The homeowner said she and four children were home at the time of the crash, but no one was injured.

Neighbors along Eulala Drive said they are actually getting used to crashes like this. They said drivers constantly speed along the road, and easily lose control.

Santiago Amaya, the neighbor next door to the home that was hit today, said someone drove into his home a few years ago.

The city put up some warning signs and a guard rail, but neighbors say that hasn't stopped cars from speeding and driving out of control.

In fact, one of the signs warning about police monitoring speeding in the area was knocked down by the truck Tuesday before crashing into the home.

Neighbors said more needs to be done to control speeding in the neighborhood.  They worried if nothing is done, someone will be killed.
