Investigators were looking for clues to explain why someone lit a car on fire and ran from the area.
The vehicle was found at a construction site just south of Briley Parkway near the intersection of Knight Drive and Ewing Lane.
Crews from the Nashville Fire Department said they believed the car was intentionally set on fire.
The fire was originally set in the early hours of Monday morning. Firefighters were called out again around 6 a.m. after the fire rekindled.
Officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department were called in to investigate. They were running the license plate to see if the car was stolen.
