Police were called to a neighborhood in Davidson County after a vehicle apparently left the interstate and struck an elderly woman's home before ending up in the backyard.
The incident happened around 7:10 a.m. Friday along Colt Drive in Bellevue.
Metro Nashville Police officials on scene said the car came off I-40 and drove through several yards before crashing into 81-year-old Helen Christians' home.

Christians was inside the home at the time of the crash but was not hurt.
"I thought I heard her say the car came through the back of the house," her sister, Anita Elkins, told reporters. "So I rushed over here to see if she was okay."
Photos from the scene showed the vehicle upside down just inches away from Christian's home.
The driver, later identified as 33-year-old Justin Northrup, of Kingston Springs, had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He was listed in extremely critical condition Friday afternoon.
Authorities said there was no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement at the scene.
