Police were called to an auction lot in the Old Hickory area after at least two cars were stolen.
Metro Nashville Police officers said the incident happened at Adesa Auto Auction lot around 1:30 a.m. Monday.
Some employees were in the office when they say they heard a loud bang.
Investigators said they believe the thieves used the stolen cars to ram the gate and escape.
Two cars were missing, but employees said they won't be sure which are gone until they do inventory.
