CEO: No Guarantee On Delivery Of TNReady Tests

The president of a North Carolina-based testing company says he can't guarantee that all students in Tennessee will receive the state's new assessment in time to take the test.

Measurement Inc. president and CEO Hank Scherich said Monday that his company is working furiously to get the new TNReady materials to students.

The delay is the latest setback for the creators of the TNReady tests. Kids were supposed to take the assessment online. But after computer glitches in February prevented some students from taking the exam, state education officials ordered that it be administered on paper.  Scherich said the company has been scrambling to print and ship 5 million tests.

The state awarded the company with a contract of more than $107 million, but only $1.6 million of that has been paid.
