Several students at a Chattanooga high school were rushed to the hospital Wednesday prompting a lock down at the school.

The incident happened at Brainerd High School in the 1000 block of North Moore Road as schools in Hamilton County were closing early for the day due to flash flooding.

Four kids were taken to the hospital by ambulance and a fifth by personal vehicle.

The exact cause of the illness has not yet been released. Police believe the students might have had an adverse reaction to taking a medication.
