Nearly 200 people gathered Wednesday night where Jaezoine Woods collapsed in the 700 block Lewis Street. They prayed to end the violence in the JC Napier Homes and throughout Nashville.

During the event, adults said teens need to look within themselves and change their hearts.

Minister Tony Evans said teens shouldn't worry about being a snitch. They should choose their crowds wisely. He invited them to come to church so that church leaders can help them and steer them in the right direction.

The godmother of Woods spoke to the crowd sharing stories about how she knew Woods since he was 1-year-old.

Theresa Stewart said she had just gone fishing with Woods. He would travel to different cities with her and always had a big smile on his face. Stewart tells Newschannel 5 Woods was on his way to the corner store to get a drink when he was stopped by the group. She cried when she heard the news.
