FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — This year, The City of Franklin will be honoring Veterans Day in a unique way due to COVID-19 with a "reverse parade."
Veterans will line the road inside the Park at Harlinsdale Farm while the community drives by to show their appreciation for their service.
City leaders said hosting the parade this way will give ample room for veterans to social distance.
"We wanted to find a way to honor our veterans but still be safe during a global pandemic," stated City Administrator Eric Stuckey. "We feel this reverse parade will be a great way for our community to give their thanks and gratitude."
The parade will be held at 11 a.m. on November 11.
Veteran groups would who like to participate in the parade can visit the City of Franklin's website by November 1 to sign up.
