A Clarksville man has been charged with DUI after crashing into an area business.

The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at a building on Providence Boulevard.

Clarksville police said witnesses saw a man slumped over in the passenger seat of an SUV with a trailer, traveling north.

The vehicle traveled across two southbound lanes, went off the road and crashed into the building. No one was inside the business at the time.

Police said 46-year-old Richard Hardy failed to complete field sobriety tests and was arrested. He was booked on charges of DUI, failure to exercise due car, driving on revoked/suspended license, violation of implied consent, compliance with financial responsibility, and served with a contempt warrant.

His bond was set at $12,000.
