NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A manhunt is underway after a clerk was shot during a gas station robbery in Donelson. Police said six suspects are wanted in the case.
The first incident happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, at a Subway on Donelson Pike. Two armed suspects entered the store and forced the clerk to open the register, where they grabbed money cash from the drawer.
As they made their way out of the building, officials with Metro police said they also robbed a customer.
The men ran across the street where they got into a black SUV.
Not far away, the suspects also stopped at a Shell gas station where three of them demanded money from the register. As the clerk was opening the drawer, police said a third suspect walked up to the counter and shot the clerk in the leg.
That person was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said the suspects were described as being black males. One was said to be between 20 and 30-years-old with a beard and was wearing a gray shirt and bandanna over his hair.
The second was possibly wearing a white shirt, and was between 20 and 30 years of age. The third was around 5-feel 6-inches tall with a slim build and was wearing a black and gray shirt with gloves.
At least two of them were armed with handguns. Police said their getaway vehicle was a mid to late 2000's model long-body SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Suburban.
There was no description of the fourth suspect, who police said was the getaway driver. At least two additional suspects were said to be involved.
So far, no arrests have been made.
