A Columbia firefighter was arrested and charged with theft.
Maury County Sheriff's deputies arrested Michael Jones of Lynnville at Fire Station 5 on Nashville Highway Tuesday.
He was indicted on a charge of more than $60,000.00.
Jones has been a firefighter with the City of Columbia for more than fifteen years.
The City placed him on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of the charges.
