A driver has been charged, and accused of hitting and killing a pedestrian in Cookeville.
Officials with the Cookeville Police Department arrested 30-year-old Emanuel Robinson in connection to the death of 29-year-old Jason Rice Wednesday evening.
The incident happened on North Dixie Avenue at around 8:45 p.m.
Police said evidence at the scene about Mr. Robinson and incriminating statements made by Mr. Robinson led to his arrest. He was charged with Vehicular Homicide.
The results of a chemical analysis of Mr. Robinson’s blood sample were pending.
It was a continuing investigation by the Traffic Division of the Cookeville Police Department, and officials asked anyone with information to call Lt. James Harris at 931-520-5352.
