Officials in Coffee County have issued a warning to the public about counterfeit bills circulating in the area.
The sheriff’s office posted on Facebook that fake $100 and $20 bills have been passed at area businesses. The employees didn’t realize the cash was fake until a bank told the business.
Investigators urged businesses to be cautious when accepting cash and encouraged employees to use a marking pen to make sure that it’s real.
Some of the fake $100 bills have pink Chinese writing on them.
If anyone tries to pass the fake bills to you or your business, you’re urged to call police.
