A portion of Charlotte Avenue has reopened in downtown Nashville after crews responded to a late-night building fire.
Flames could be seen coming through construction beams in what appeared to be the second or third floor of the HCA headquarters building on 11th Avenue and Charlotte Avenue.
It was unclear what caused the fire.
Crews were seen throwing large pieces of debris and construction materials from the roof as they worked to extinguish the flames.
Fire officials labeled it a 2-alarm fire for a brief moment, but called the second crew back once they got it under control.
About four blocks of 11th Avenue were closed, with fire trucks and hoses in the roadway.
The building was still under construction at the time of the blaze.
