NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A clerk at Danial Market on Dickerson Pike was shot and killed overnight in what Metro police (MNPD) believe to be a robbery.
According to MNPD, the suspect murdered the clerk, 49-year-old Maged Ghaly, just after midnight on the 2500 block of Dickerson Pike.
Ghaly's was found dead by a customer at just before 12:50 a.m.
Surveillance video shows the suspect enter the store a minute before the attempted robbery. Police say he ran from the store afterwards, heading south on Dickerson Pike.
After releasing security photos in search of the suspect, police say Jerome Knight Jr., 21, surrendered to detectives Saturday night. He is charged with criminal homicide and attempted especially aggravated robbery.
