Community members came together to save the Donelson-Hermitage Christmas Parade after it was canceled.
Mayor Megan Barry, along with community leaders made the announcement Wednesday afternoon.
Due to a permitting issue used to close the street for the parade, the community was forced to scrap the 31 year tradition last week
However, that also motivated folks to come together and work out the paperwork problems.
Every year, the parade marks the beginning of the Christmas season and that tradition will continue.
"This parade is going to be a lot of fun for the entire family. In fact it's one of my favorites to walk. I was just driving it and reminded just how hilly it is," said Mayor Barry.
The parade will be held on Sunday, December 4th along Donelson Pike.
