MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WTVF) — Jessye Duncan spends most of his days with his dog Hero, the two have been bonded since they met two years ago but lately Jessye has been running into issues when he's out in public with his service animal.

Recently, Jessye says more and more people are coming up to Hero trying to pet him or interact with him. He understands the urge but wants to remind people that since Hero is a working service dog, petting him can be extremely distracting. And in some instances even reverse some of the training Hero has received to help Jessye with his PTSD.

"It’s become a problem because recently he’s missed alerts, he’s failed to notify of my medical condition which is his entire purpose," Jessye said.
