A woman was arrested for allegedly running someone over with her car and trying to flee the scene.

Witnesses said the pedestrian was in the crosswalk on Church Street near Mcmillin Street when they were hit after 1 a.m. Sunday. A good Samaritan was able to grab the car's window as the driver tried to flee and got the keys out of the ignition.

Officers conducted sobriety tests with the driver and eventually cuffed her and put her in the back of a patrol car.

The victim was not seriously hurt. Neither the driver or pedestrian were identified.

Police had not immediately released what the driver would be charged with.
