CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A 14-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle in Clarksville, and the driver was charged with a DUI.

According to Clarksville Police officials, the teen was injured and rushed to the hospital Friday evening.

It happened at Reynolds Street and Vine Street.

According to the driver, 29-year-old, Zachary Stanley, a group of juveniles were playing near the road when the 14-year-old unexpectedly darted into the roadway, leaving no room for him to stop in time.

Officers say Stanley smelled of alcohol. He was given field sobriety tests which were performed poorly. He was taken to Montgomery County Jail and administered a breathalyzer test and far exceeded the BAC concentration of .08.

He was booked into Montgomery County Jail and given a $10,000 bond.
