NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A woman was injured Thursday morning after her car was struck by the Music City Star east of Nashville. No one on the train was hurt.

The incident was reported around 7 a.m. on Stewarts Ferry Pike near Donelson.

Officials on the scene said the woman's car was apparently stopped too close to the tracks as the train approached. She tried to back up but got stuck in between the arms of the railroad crossing.

The train struck her at 40 mph, causing the vehicle to spin.

She suffered serious injuries in the collision and was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center. Her injuries were said to be non-life threatening.

Her identity was not known.

None of the 250 people onboard the train were injured.

A portion of Stewarts Ferry Pike was blocked while officials remain on the scene, but has since reopened.

No additional details were known.
