An investigation has gotten underway after a man showed up at an area hospital overnight, saying he was shot while driving down Interstate 65 near downtown Nashville.

The victim said he was driving on I-65 near Rosa L. Parks Boulevard when someone in another vehicle tried to flag him down.
He said he tried to flee the situation, at which point several shots were fired.
The victim was struck in the shoulder and drove himself to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The gunman remained on the run. No suspect information was known.
