House Speaker Beth Harwell stated that she and other lawmakers are expecting a vote to expel Representative Jeremy Durham during special session next week.

Legislature was set to reconvene by Governor Haslam to undo a DUI law which could keep the state from receiving $60 million in highway funding.

However, according to Harwell, legislators will also address the controversy surrounding embattled Rep. Jeremy Durham.

"Expulsion motions are procedural in nature, so it is permitted regardless of the call. There will be a motion and a vote on expulsion, and I welcome the opportunity to vote for it," said Harwell.

Durham has been at the center of a sexual harassment investigation involving 22 women. He also just dissolved his Franklin-based business amid reports of a federal investigation.
