Voters are expected to begin heading to the polls as Wednesday kicks off early voting.
Republican Donald Trump has been polling well ahead of Hillary Clinton here in Tennessee, but political analyst Pat Nolan said a lack of a "ground game" and a few weeks of bad press could hurt him.
A strong "get-out-the-vote" effort during early voting for Democrats could also make the race closer than expected.
"I still think Trump will win this state handily, but because of some of the things I don't see in terms of organization being as strong here as it was 4 years or 8 years ago. I don't think Trump will get close to the nearly 60 percent of the vote that Mitt Romney got. I will think he'll win, but the margin may not be quite as large," said NewsChannel 5 political analyst, Pat Nolan.
