East Nashville Homeless Camp Cleared

Posted

Several homeless people have claimed they were forced to leave their camp site in the middle of winter, but Metro Parks officials said that's just not true.

The department sent out a "leave notice" to the 5 homeless people living in tents in Douglas Park after fires and a propane explosion.

On Wednesday, crews came out to clean and clear the area of debris and out of fear they were being forced out. The people there packed up and left.

Parks officials said there was no date on the notice as to "when" they had to go and were told the city won't force anyone to leave during the winter months.
