NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Metro Public Health Department clinic has closed temporarily after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

The department says the East Public Health Center was closed after a worker tested positive for the coronavirus on Saturday.

Health officials say the employee did not have direct contact with clinic patients. Co-workers who had close contact with the worker have been tested and are quarantining at home.

The center is expected to reopen July 20. Staff are contacting those who had appointments this week to reschedule.

The department says the clinic is undergoing deep cleaning and disinfection.

When the clinic is open, all staff receive temperature checks and visitors are screened upon arrival.

Patients who visited the clinic in the past week who may have questions can call 615-340-5655.
