Thursday was the final public forum on whether to rename a controversial building at Middle Tennessee State University.
Forrest Hall, which houses the university's ROTC program, was named for Nathan Bedford Forrest, a Confederate general and early KKK leader.

A final public forum on the issue was held Thursday evening in the University Center Theater. But things were much more heated than in some past meetings.

The task force will discuss the issue in future public meetings without public input and make a recommendation on whether to change the building's name by the last week of April. After that MTSU President Dr. Sidney McPhee will make a final decision.
