Authorities in Cannon County confirmed the high school will be closed Friday after a brief lockdown Thursday.
Thursday morning, an investigation was conducted in regards to a threat at Cannon County High School. Officials with the Cannon County Sheriff's Office said the threat had been made by a juvenile and was reported to authorities Wednesday night.
Officials said they interviewed multiple juveniles Thursday. No arrests had been made, but authorities confirmed the juvenile who made the threats has been identified and taken to a facility.
Parents were notified of the investigation. Authorities said no weapons were found on campus Thursday, and the high school was deemed safe, allowing the school day to continue.
The planned school closure for Friday was set to allow officials to complete their investigation.
Those with the school system said their main concern was the safety of their students.
