It's a sight people have been seeing all over the small town of Nolensville in Williamson County lately: blue ribbons.
The ribbons have been placed on buildings, trees, and just about everywhere else.
While some may think it's part of the national tribute to law enforcement, Newschannel 5's Steve Hayslip found out the blue ribbons have a different message.
In Nolensville, a new school campus has been built with an elementary school and middle school within eyesight of a huge new high school.
The county has spent more than $70 million on the three Nolensville schools, which boast high-tech goodies like turf on the high school football field.
The high school has already been attracting families, and to handle the traffic, new signals and signage have been going up on the road that leads to the school.
Blue ribbons hang from the high school sign and local businesses all over town.
It's a show of support and excitement over the new Nolensville Knights, whose colors will include royal blue.
The ribbon cuttings for the 3 new schools has been set to take place Sunday at 2 p.m.
School leaders said they’re also starting a "legacy campaign" to help pay for additional needs at the school.
