Kids of all ages were invited to learn about engineering in the Lipscomb/Nissan BisonBot Robot Camp.
In the camp, students from 4th, 5th, and 6th grade learned how to construct a working robot arm, which would be used in an engineering competition at the end of the week.
Former campers became counselors for current students, including girls, who in years past, might not have had the chance to work closely with engineers, because engineering was considered to be male dominated.
Students came from several states to attend, and camp partner Nissan not only provided several scholarships for campers, but also allowed the students to tour their facilities to see how real robot arms work.
