A senior citizen was roughed up and robbed while getting lunch inside a Sumner County Cracker Barrel.
It happened inside the foyer at the Cracker Barrel on Long Hollow Pike in Goodlettsville in broad daylight.
Police said Kelly and Kristin's 79-year-old grandfather encountered the suspect. "He said he pushed him with both hands as hard as he could," said Kristin. "He said that guy had to play football when he was younger because he was really strong."
The man made off with $60 leaving their grandfather on the ground. "He said I just want to go home, and when he got home he couldn't get out of his vehicle so he said change of plans call the ambulance," said Kristin.
The suspect had broken three of their grandfather's ribs and injured his back. We showed them the suspect's picture, and as you can imagine both Kelly and Kristin were extremely angry. "We're upset that someone would want to attack a person who is obviously older and just an easy target," said Kristin.
Kelly said her grandfather is also down to earth and giving. "If he would've merely just asked he probably would've given it to him rather than throwing him on the ground and breaking some of his ribs," she said.
They were hoping someone would recognize the suspect. "If he'll do it to him, he'll do it to anybody, said Kristin. "What if he hurts and kills somebody. That's just a concern."
The suspect was last seen near the Arby's on Conference Drive. So far, there's no vehicle information connected to the suspect. If you know who did this, you're asked to call the Goodlettsville police.
