NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A elderly man died Tuesday in West Nashville after he got pinned under a tractor wheel.
Metro Police say 76-year-old William Burns was found by a neighbor just after 1:30 p.m. in a front pasture of his land on Highway 70 near the Cheatham County line.
Police say it appears that Burns drove his tractor through a gate, got off to close it, and, before he could get back on, was hit by the rolling rear tire.
The tractor was found by the neighbor in neutral with the motor running.
The brake had not been set.
