Almost 1,000 students from Coleman Elementary students received free shoes from Journeys shoes and United Way Nashville.
A total of 850 students were fitted with a brand new pair of Vans shoes.
Genesco, the company that owns Journey's shoe stores, had its Global National Sales Meeting Monday.
In a partnership with United Way Nashville, 500 Journeys employees donated their time to give back to the mid-state.
The employees also completed community service projects at nine non-profits around the city.
"you know, people are very willing to try to give back to the community, but in a lot of cases they don't know how. So this gives them an opportunity to do that," said Jim Estepa.
All projects done Monday were at organizations focusing on supporting children, young adults and families in the mid-state.
