Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation canceled an Endangered Child Alert for a 2-year-old girl they believed to have been taken by her non-custodial father.

Officials said 2-year old Makayla Hope Weidner was taken by Wesley Eugene Weidner Jr. after a domestic assault against the mother.

She was safely recovered in Alma, Arkansas and Wesley Weidner was taken into custody.

Weidner was wanted for aggravated assault, custodial interference, and failure to appear, and has made threats to kill himself.

He may be driving a 1999 White Honda Del Sol with TN tag 7A5-3F6.

Makayla was described as a white female, 3’0” tall, 30 pounds, red hair and blue eyes.

Officials asked anyone who may have seen Makayla or Weidner to call the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at 423-442-4357 or the TBI at 1-800-824-3463.
