EPA Complaint Dropped Against Rep. Holt

State Representative Andy Holt has claimed his problems with the Environmental Protection Agency have ended.

The agency threatened to fine him more than $170,000 last summer because of pollution from his hog farm.

The incident followed a NewsChannel 5 Investigation that showed Holt pumped hundreds of thousands of gallons of hog waste into a nearby stream.

Holt sent out a news release late Wednesday afternoon announcing the EPA had dropped its complaint.

EPA documents showed the agency withdrew its complaint for now, but if Holt fails to follow the judge's order, it could be brought up again.
